Mr Scarr graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing and minor in business management in 1973. He began his business career in condominium property management for US Home in Clearwater, Florida from 1974-84. During that time Mr Scarr obtained the Certified Property Manager Designation (CPM) and became a charter member of the Suncoast Chapter of Community Associations Institute (CAI).

In 1984 he was appointed with Nationwide Insurance as a fully licensed insurance agent.

Scarr Insurance Group is now a full service independent agency offering selected home, auto, business, life and financial products and services. The agency also specializes in community association insurance, serving condominium and HOA communities since 1984.

Mr Scarr is author of “How to Understand, Use and Buy Condominium Insurance”, Suncoast Professional Publishing and co-host and co- producer of The Condo Connection, a public access television program.

Mr Scarr and the agency are active members of the Suncoast, SE Florida and West Florida Chapters of CAI, currently serving as insurance specialist at educational seminars and certified CAM CE class instructor. Additional affiliations are CAMP and the Broward Coalition.
